Financial & Calculation Disclaimer
Every calculator on Kaamsajilo — vehicle tax, salary/income tax, GPA, EMI, age, and currency/metal-rate conversions — produces an informational estimate, not an official or legally binding determination. Read this page before relying on any result for a real decision, filing, or payment.
Official authorities have the final word
Where a calculator depends on government or institutional rules — vehicle tax, income tax (TDS/annual), GPA grading scales — the relevant authority always has final authority over your actual obligation:
- Vehicle tax and renewal penalties: your province's Transport Management Office.
- Income tax, TDS, and VAT: the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
- GPA and grading: your institution's examination/controller office.
- NEPSE-related fees and capital gains: SEBON and your licensed broker.
If a Kaamsajilo result differs from what an official authority tells you, the official authority is correct. Please tell us about the discrepancy — see our Corrections Policy.
How we handle rules that change over time
Tax slabs, vehicle-tax tables, GPA scales, and similar figures change — sometimes every fiscal year. We never hard-code these numbers directly into a calculator. Instead, every such rule is stored as a versioned record with:
- an effective-from (and, where applicable, effective-to) date,
- a citation to the official source document it came from, and
- a verification status — a rule is labelled unverified until an administrator has confirmed it against the cited source and approved it for use. Unverified rules are visibly flagged in the tool's output, never presented as confirmed.
Every calculation result that depends on a rule also records which rule version was used, so a result you got last year can always be traced back to the exact figures in force at that time.
Client-side calculators (EMI, age, date/text conversion)
Calculators that don't depend on external rules — EMI, age, BS↔AD date conversion, Nepali text conversion — run entirely in your browser using standard, published formulas (e.g. the standard amortizing- loan EMI formula) or our audited date-conversion dataset. These are mathematically deterministic, but we still recommend double-checking any result that affects a financial decision.
Live rates (forex, gold/silver)
Forex rates are sourced from Nepal Rastra Bank's public data feed; gold/silver rates (when enabled) from FENEGOSIDA. Both are refreshed on a schedule, not in real time, and are always shown with a "last updated" timestamp and a visible warning if the data is stale. Rates shown here should not be used for time-sensitive trading or settlement decisions — confirm with your bank or dealer first.
